Against everybody's advice (children, children-in-law and the Hubby), I had C.'s ears pierced.

I'm a big believer in trying to dress our children as attractively as possible, to present them to the world in a positive light. I also believe that school staff - often unconsciously - devote more attention to the more appealing students.

So here on the right is C. modelling her sparkling new earrings.
