C.'s last blood test results showed a very low level of Valproic Acid despite her relatively high dose: 400mg in the morning and 500mg at night.
Note: This time made I made sure that her dose was due precisely when the blood was drawn. Last time, it was two hours prior. The neurologist had assured me then that the results were accurate nonetheless. But my daughter-in-law, the pharmacist, maintains that closer is preferable.
Clearly she was right. C.'s levels were 57.45 UG/ml, as opposed to 78 Ug/ml last time. We are now eagerly awaiting the neurologist's email with the raised dosage.
